Teradata Honored by The White House

DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 12 – Today, Teradata, the leading analytic data platforms, applications and services company, will be honored by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) for its efforts to build partnerships that transform the use of analytics for the greater good of society.

“Teradata is honored to be recognized by the White House for our focus on data philanthropy,” said Sherri Morgan, Teradata community relations director. “Our data philanthropy initiative is a way for Teradata to use our unique resources and capabilities in giving back to society.”

Teradata is recognized for bringing the power of data analytics to high-impact social charities around the world so they can better serve the needs of their clientele. Through Teradata’s established partnership with the non-profit organization DataKind, Teradata’s talented data scientists and others volunteer to assist non-profit and non-governmental organizations by producing solutions to their urgent and strategic data challenges. The next Teradata-sponsored DataKind event takes place this weekend in New York City for the benefit of Amnesty International, the United Nations Global Pulse and Crisis Textline.

“Teradata is helping DataKind bring some of industry’s top data analytics talent together to address society’s greatest challenges.  More importantly, Teradata is helping us foster a global conversation about the importance of using data science and working in concert with leading mission-driven organizations,” said Jake Porway, DataKind founder and executive director.
