Simba Technologies Releases Simba Salesforce ODBC Driver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 18 — Simba Technologies, the industry’s Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) expert for Big Data solutions, is now enabling powerful connections to Tableau from Salesforce.com data. Simba’s Salesforce ODBC Driver with SQL Connector provides customers easy access to their Salesforce.com data for Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics using Tableau Software.

Unlike other Salesforce.com drivers, Simba’s Salesforce ODBC Driver performs the added task of mapping advanced SQL functionality to the native Salesforce SOQL API to provide users with seamless integration between Tableau and Salesforce.com. The Simba Salesforce ODBC Driver supports query functionality within the Saleforce.com dataset and is configured to pass queries through for added efficiency. The driver also utilizes Simba’s Collaborative Query Execution (CQE) to pass down filters and aggregations for added performance.

Built upon the SimbaEngine SDK driver development framework – the industry’s leading ODBC toolkit for high-performance custom ODBC driver development – Simba’s Big Data ODBC Drivers fully comply with the ODBC 3.52 data standard and add important functionality such as Unicode and 32- and 64-bit support for high-performance computing environments on all platforms, including Windows, RedHat, SUSE, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX and Mac OS X.

“Simba has developed numerous ODBC 3.52 drivers for BI and data warehouse vendors globally, and with the powerful features within the Salesforce ODBC Driver with SQL Connector allows for seamless use of Tableau software on your Salesforce data source,” said Rob Eisses, Simba’s VP Sales. “Simba is excited to add this improved connectivity option for Saleforce.com customers wanting to connect to Tableau or other BI and reporting tools.”
