Narus Teams with IBM to Provide Big Data Analytics Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Feb. 25 — Narus, Inc., a leader in big data analytics for cybersecurity software, today announced an agreement with IBM to provide enterprises and governments with big data analytics solutions scaling to 100+ Gigabit networks. These solutions provide faster time to resolution of security threats so organizations can get back to business quickly. Leveraging IBM’s InfoSphere BigInsights technology, Narus nSystem offers the power of Apache Hadoop, the leading open-source software framework to reliably manage large volumes of structured and unstructured persistent data at unparalleled speeds. The integration with IBM InfoSphere Stream enables nSystem to run streaming data analytics on large data flows.

“The Narus and IBM collaboration brings big data analytics innovations to market and provides the stability and scalability required to address the needs of large enterprises,” said John Trobough, president, Narus. “The initial focus on cybersecurity brings the deep visibility and rich context required to make the right security decisions quickly and accelerate the time to resolution of malicious threats.”

Together, Narus nSystem and IBM InfoSphere BigInsights and Streams provide best-in-class analytical capabilities for large volume data management. Integrating these technologies enhances security capabilities by providing an intelligent solution for resolving complex security threats, applying cognitive research to visualizations of large-scale data and preventing cognitive overload.

“IBM and Narus will combine innovative big data analytics solutions enabling Narus’ nSystem with Big Insights, Streams, Linux on Power Systems and Storage. By working together, we will be able to help our clients analyze crucial data faster, and help turn data into actionable intelligence,” said Tom Kilkenny, vice president and general manager, IBM.
