Equalum Named as Finalist in Microsoft Big Data and AI Competition
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 9, 2019 — Equalum (http://equalum.io), a leading real-time data ingestion platform, is excited to announce its recognition as a finalist in the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data contest sponsored by Microsoft and Calcalist last month in Tel Aviv.
The contest, held at Calcalist’s annual “Mind the Data 2018” conference, recognizes market-leading contributions in the fields of AI and big data.
Equalum enables real-time analytics for firms across information-rich industries, from manufacturing to financial services, by harnessing the scalability of open source frameworks Apache Spark and Kafka within an enterprise-grade, end-to-end data ingestion solution.
“Being recognized as a finalist is a tremendous distinction,” says Nir Livneh, CEO of Equalum. “We’re proud to showcase our disruptive approach to real-time data ingestion – the infinite scalability of open source technology, available in a fully-managed solution for enterprises – in a truly global innovation forum alongside other leaders in their fields.”
Mind the Data 2018 highlighted pathbreaking applications of AI across industries, from network security and customer service in the financial services sector to predictive maintenance in manufacturing and search optimization for visual art and music. Equalum’s technology enables enterprises to develop and scale such real-time analytics use cases, by seamlessly ingesting massive quantities of data from operational systems to centralized data stores or lakes.
The competition was judged by Microsoft Israel General Manager Shelly Landsman; Eyal Niv, a managing general partner at venture capital firm Pitango; Vertex General Partner Emanuel Timor; Sivan Shamri Dahan, co-founder and partner of Israeli late-stage venture firm Qumra Capital; Daniel Shinar, CEO of Tel Aviv-based venture investments firm ClalTech; Yodfat Harel Buchris, managing director at Blumberg Capital Israel; Moran Ben Gigi, head of data and analytics at KPMG Israel; and Eyal Barzilai, head of big data at Israel’s Leumi Bank.
Equalum (http://equalum.io) is the first Data Beaming platform, capable of instantly teleporting operational data from any source to real-time analytics environments. Built for scalability and ease of use, Equalum harnesses the power of Spark in an enterprise-grade environment – helping organizations accelerate past traditional ETL or open-source implementations. Headquartered in Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv, Equalum is proud to work with some of the world’s top industrial, financial, and media enterprises.
