Guavus Announces Platform Update

SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 13 — Guavus, the leading provider of big data analytics solutions, today announced a platform update that extends the power of real-time analytics applications throughout a virtual infrastructure. The Guavus Reflex Platform is the only operational intelligence technology that can be deployed in virtualized service infrastructures to provide Communication Service Providers (CSPs) with critical customer information in real-time.

With mobile devices on pace to outnumber humans and customer demands increasing, operators rely on data analytics from the network, sensors, databases and key applications to drive and inform critical business decisions. To lower costs and keep pace with opportunity, operators are systematically moving to a virtual infrastructure and adding services versus applications or appliances. The Guavus platform enhancement delivers the first operational intelligence platform to work in a completely virtualized environment while providing big data analytics solutions with the same compute power, speed, efficiency, and performance of dedicated hardware.

“The need for more flexibility and scalability is driving operators to look to replace their hardware-bound platforms with virtualized solutions, and the data analytics area is no exception,” said Shira Levine, Directing Analyst, Service Enablement and Subscriber Intelligence at Infonetics Research. “As ‘Big Data’ initiatives ramp up, they are driving the need for analytics solutions that can scale to meet the scope of these projects; a virtualized solution has the potential to provide that while providing operational efficiencies and capex savings.”

Historically, CSPs have run their operations on hierarchical, proprietary and costly hardware and software. The resulting infrastructure was excellent at delivering high performance, but it also created a stagnant and rigid IT environment that made any type of change difficult. By moving to a virtual environment, CSPs get a more flexible and affordable IT environment. The newly updated Guavus Reflex platform is infinitely extensible across the virtual infrastructure making it easy to apply key business processes and applications throughout the organization.

Guavus partnered with a tier one global telecom provider to help the organization create a virtualized environment, which is currently going live. The partnership has spurred interest from other leading-edge operators that realize big data analytics can enhance virtualization technologies.

“Guavus has been helping the world’s leading CSPs aggregate and analyze diverse data about their networks, subscribers, devices and content to capitalize on undiscovered market opportunities, accelerate time to market for new offerings and reduce operational costs through optimization and automation. Today, our value is realized in a new endeavor that is essential to CSPs — virtualization,” said Roy Singh, CTO, Guavus. “Only Guavus has the science and technology to help our customers make the kind of closed loop decisions that improve network performance and improve customer experience. Now our customers can add Guavus as a service to their burgeoning virtual infrastructures.”
