ThoughtSpot Introduces DataFlow to Leverage All Enterprise Data
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2020 — ThoughtSpot has long recognized that business users need quick, easy access to data to gather insights that inform decisions whenever and wherever they’re made. Critical to that experience is streamlining the process of loading data into ThoughtSpot, such that search capabilities can be leveraged immediately. Today, the company is announcing DataFlow, a new feature that makes it faster and easier than ever for companies to load data into Falcon, the company’s in-memory database.
Flexible and Easy Data Transfer
DataFlow significantly reduces the amount of technical resources needed to deploy ThoughtSpot while accelerating data access and analysis. Users simply connect to their data source, preview and select which data they want to move into ThoughtSpot through a point and click UX that requires no coding, schedule their sync, then immediately start searching for insights. DataFlow supports dozens of the most common databases, data warehouses, file sources, and applications, and can scale to handle modern data volumes without any instability.
DataFlow enables granular, incremental control, allowing for a completely custom user experience. Users can select the specific table columns they want to load without the need to move entire data sets. They also have the option to only add new data to existing tables or overwrite existing tables completely.
ThoughtSpot provides enterprises with the choice on how to connect with data. Businesses can utilize Embrace to run live queries directly in data warehouses, or use DataFlow to load data from a company’s source database or filesystem into Falcon. Enterprises now have more flexibility on how to access their data for search and AI-driven analytics, wherever it lives, to empower their frontline business.
“ThoughtSpot has always provided flexibility and choice on how to connect and interact with data, because we understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach to analytics. Our customers rely on us to empower their business, from the frontlines to the executive team, with the ability to find critical insights in their data, wherever it lives in the enterprise,” said Ajeet Singh, Cofounder & Executive Chairman, ThoughtSpot. “With DataFlow, we’re advancing this mission by giving businesses the ability to automate the process of bringing data into ThoughtSpot when they choose to do so, making it easier and faster for customers to get more value from their data by doing less work.”
“DataFlow was a no-brainer for us. It was so easy to load more data into ThoughtSpot, and expand the amount and types of data that we could use search & AI to analyze,” said Tam Ta, Business Analytics & Intelligence Lead, Patties Food. “When we wanted to add new data, we easily identified the tables and were able to load them with DataFlow in six minutes.”
Additional DataFlow capabilities:
Data mapping: Flexibly map columns from the data source to columns in ThoughtSpot’s in-memory data store.
Sync scheduling: Define granular data sync schedules, down to hourly intervals.
TQL interface: Run custom commands in an embedded TQL editor.
