Unisys Launches Digital Government Accelerators Solution

BLUE BELL, Pa., July 13, 2017 — Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today launched Digital Government Accelerators, a new family of IT services and software designed to help state and local government agencies speed up their transitions toward providing digital services.

The Digital Government Accelerators family of offerings applies best practices and tools for digital transformation services to the unique needs of government agencies that interface directly with citizens and businesses. It covers core aspects of digital government, including moving data and applications to the cloud, providing a modern collaborative work environment for government employees, and improving the citizen experience for government services online and via mobile devices.

“The first wave of digital government generated case studies on how government can cut costs and better serve citizens. The current wave must build on that knowledge by providing a secure and responsive citizen experience at the point of service, while also cutting the cost of government in line with today’s budget pressures,” said Mark Forman, global head of public sector, Unisys. “The Unisys Digital Government Accelerators solution set provides the key tools CIOs need to move fast and fulfill that expectation.”

Unisys Digital Government Accelerators enable rapid benefits realization in three high-demand areas for governments:

  • Rapid cloud deployment. To take the risk out of moving to the cloud, agencies can apply tools such as cloud management platforms to orchestrate the administration, governance and security of private, public and hybrid clouds from a variety of providers. These tools help agencies use IT more efficiently while providing asset management, catalogue and monitoring capabilities.
  • Digital services optimization. To deliver services that rival those in the private sector, agencies must be able to quickly deliver intuitive online tools for everything from paying taxes to reserving a campsite at a state park. But few IT organizations have accurate visibility into the cost and quality of the technology that provides the foundation for secure online services. Agencies can create and optimize a “services catalog” by applying proven roadmaps and frameworks from Unisys with ServiceNow® ServiceWatch™ Suite to achieve efficient IT operations while preventing digital services outages.
  • Permitting, licensing and compliance using AMANDA. To help government provide services like inspections, permitting and licensing, Digital Government Accelerators offers a configurable solution, based on the AMANDA platform from CSDC, to eliminate paperwork burdens and improve staff agencies’ productivity. The solution automates and integrates workflows to support reviews, exams, renewals, audits, fees, investigations, legal actions and compliance activities. For example, Unisys announced in April 2017 it is providing a case management and compliance solution to enable the Michigan Gaming Control Board to more easily and effectively access information needed to license and regulate gaming activities in the state.
