August 7, 2019 — The newly refreshed HPC & AI on Wall Street conference has selected WR Hambrecht Partner and Chief Technology Officer, Thomas Thurston to give an invited talk titled, “Using Data Science and AI to Guide Investment Decisions.” HPC and AI on Wall Street takes place September 11-12, 2019 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

Thurston, a widely respected Venture Capitalist and Data Scientist, is known for his innovative approach to using data science to identify disruptive growth companies with an extraordinarily high rate of success. Since 2008 his team has helped guide billions of dollars in growth efforts using AI, machine learning, complex systems modeling and unstructured data mining, demonstrating the success that can be achieved with the convergence of HPC and AI.

Thomas will share how his fund is using technology to gain unique insights into private businesses and markets that otherwise disclose little or no public data. He’ll also share counter-intuitive insights about the various elements that predict new business success, what seemingly important elements have surprisingly less value, and how executives are grappling with augmented decision making as they aim to grow their businesses in today’s rapidly changing technology environments.

Thomas will speak on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 8:15AM EST.
