Sqrrl Enterprise 1.4 Released

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 4 — Sqrrl, the software company that develops the most flexible, secure, and scalable NoSQL database platform for building real-time Big Data applications, is announcing the availability Sqrrl Enterprise 1.4 and a new Test Drive Virtual Machine (VM).

Sqrrl Enterprise 1.4, the latest version of Sqrrl’s flagship product, delivers increased performance, improved integration, and continued enrichment to its best-in-class security capabilities. Enhancements to Sqrrl Enterprise in this latest release include a new fielded term search index type, optimizations to bulk loads and backup/restore, and support for NodeJS clients.

In addition to this latest release, Sqrrl is now accepting applicants for its new Test Drive VM. The Test Drive VM is a single node of Sqrrl Enterprise that will allow users to get a hands-on feel for the Sqrrl Enterprise software in a sandbox environment. The Test Drive VM includes the Hadoop Distributed File System, Accumulo, Sqrrl Enterprise software, example datasets, and tutorials.

“Our flexible data models and Data-Centric Security approach provide a powerful combination of capabilities to power real-time Big Data applications,” says Mark Terenzoni, CEO of Sqrrl. “With the introduction of the Sqrrl Test Drive VM, users now have a frictionless way to quickly learn about these capabilities without needing to stand up a full Hadoop cluster.”

The Test Drive VM is designed for Sqrrl customers and partners who wish to get up and running quickly with Sqrrl software on a single node, but do not yet need to scale their solution. Sqrrl will offer the Test Drive VM to qualified users at no cost and will be complemented by a new Sqrrl Community Forum where users, developers, and enthusiasts of the Sqrrl product line can convene for questions and answers.
