Sisense and Periscope Data Merge

NEW YORKMay 14, 2019 — Sisense, a leader in empowering analytic builders to simplify complex data and provide insights to everyone, today announced its merger with Periscope Data, a leading analytics platform for cloud data professionals. Sisense delivers deep expertise in mashing up disparate data sets, building and embedding analytic apps and intuitive data exploration. Companies like GE and Nasdaq rely on Sisense to build operational analytics applications. Periscope Data is used by sophisticated data experts in organizations like Tinder and Flexport for advanced analytics and data science in the cloud.

Together the companies are able to deliver a unified platform that is uniquely positioned to empower the world’s most advanced business, data, and product teams to drive digital transformation in their companies. The new Sisense now boasts over 2,000 customers that are the undisputed data leaders in their industries.

“There are lots of separate sources of data that need to be tracked with a complex operation such as an airline, which we analyze to improve procedures making flying safer,” said Jens Niemann, Product Manager Safety Management Solutions for R2 Data Labs at Rolls-Royce. “Sisense simplifies the data puzzle, delivering important insights and alerts to our customers that help improve safety. We’re very excited about this merger, which will offer even more powerful tools to handle our most complex data challenges.”

The merger anticipates a digital transformation of business where every company – regardless of the industry, product, or service – will have data driving their business.

“Very soon, every company will be a data-driven company and every product a data-driven product,” said Amir Orad, Chief Executive Officer of Sisense. “Cloud, big data, AI, and machine learning are accelerating this transition. We believe that data, product, and business teams are the analytic builders behind this transformation: people who want to build, change, and impact the world. We’re the single-stack unified platform that will get you there, giving power to those builders and insights to everyone.”

Periscope Data founders Harry Glaser and Tom O’Neill and their team are taking leadership roles in the combined business, which will operate under the Sisense brand, led by existing CEO Amir Orad.

“This is a big win for two highly complementary companies. We share a deep commitment to inclusive culture and diverse leadership,” said Harry Glaser, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Periscope Data. “Amir and I have been talking for over a year and realized we’re both building something special, and our people and values really fit together. Both Periscope Data and Sisense have been named top companies to work for in San Francisco and New York, respectively, and recognized for diversity by Gartner and Forbes. These unique cultures and our customer-first DNA will reinforce each other in the combined Sisense to deliver the next business intelligence industry powerhouse.”

“Periscope Data has greatly improved our time to insight and helped us build a data-first culture,” said Maggie Li, VP of Business Operations and Analytics at employment marketplace ZipRecruiter. “We’re excited to see what comes next as they join forces with Sisense.”

Sisense is acquiring Periscope Data’s assets, people, and overall business operations to create a high growth technology leader of over $100 million ARR with over 700 employees (and hundreds of open positions), across its New Yorkheadquarters and key offices in San FranciscoTel Aviv and around the world.
