Siren Releases 10.2

GALWAY, Ireland and PHILADELPHIA, U.S., April 30, 2019 – Siren, the investigative intelligence platform, today announced the release of Siren 10.2 – a solution that combines advanced link analysis, BI, big data monitoring,  operational intelligence monitoring, data discovery and search all on one platform. The latest version ships with dozens of core upgrades and high impact features which focus on making the platform more user friendly and accessible to a much wider community.

Siren is primarily aimed at investigative functions within organizations (cyber threat intelligence, financial crime, law enforcement) where citizen data scientists have the real need for advanced “correlation” analysis on multiple datasets at the same time. This makes domain experts more self-sufficient from IT than ever before, allowing them to ingest, model and investigate correlations without heavy coding support.

Today, Siren has made it easier for individuals to access next generation Investigative Intelligence with the launch of Siren Community Edition – for one-off projects users now have free access to leading-edge link analysis and unique relational investigation capabilities. To enable clients to make the most of the Community Edition, Siren has also launched a community portal which provides support, FAQs, links to resources and highlights Investigative Intelligence use cases and applications. The Siren Community Edition is fully featured and can be easily upgraded to business editions.

In previous versions of Siren, users were required to load data into Elasticsearch or a DBMS in order to analyze it. In 10.2, to make data loading easier, Siren has introduced new UI assisted ways to load data (e.g. from CSV/Excel) which in effect makes it easier for a single analyst to use Siren for project work. Now, users can quite simply drag and drop a local file and, after a quick preview, configure Transformations and Mappings (data types).

Siren’s new “Data Reflection” app dedicated to data sources and data loading makes it easier to use new data sets. Siren Reflections are setup within the UI and can be scheduled to be re-executed regularly. As opposed to virtualized indexes, reflecting data comes with many advantages such as better search and advanced analytics, denormalization into a more advanced data model, enhanced performance and scalability, a decrease in load on remote systems, simplified setup and monitoring, and materializing complex or long-running query results. Reflections can be activated from the new Data Reflection side app, with a workflow coherent with that of the CSV import – allowing pipeline imports, setting of mappings, etc.

In 10.2, it is now easier to share and collaborate on investigation insights — via the new export functionality which has been designed for CSV, PDF or PNG files. Gigabytes of data can now be exported with one click no matter which complex or relational filter is applied.

In 10.2, Siren has introduced its first connector to the graph database world – the Neo4J ingestion connector. Users can create a Neo4J data source and use it in the ingestion UI to bring in “slices” of Neo4J into the Siren back end – providing the user with the benefits of textual search, ultra-fast analytics dashboards, link analysis, while data is kept in sync automatically within the reflection framework. The user can also make use of the unique power of Neo4J’s graph pattern detection by saving the results of graph queries within Siren indexes and then using them in Siren workflows.
