Pentaho Announces Big Data Growth

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 12 — Delivering the future of analytics, Pentaho Corporation today announced that 2013 was another record year with 83 percent bookings growth from big data and embedded analytics customers over 2012. These two high growth segments now account for 50 percent of Pentaho’s total revenue. The rapid growth is a result of growing enterprise customer adoption of next-generation big data and embedded analytics.

The introduction of Pentaho Business Analytics 5.0 and the launch of Pentaho Labs were two key drivers of the strong enterprise adoption in 2013. Pentaho 5.0 is a completely re-architected platform that greatly simplifies the entire analytics experience for all users and delivers the industry’s first just in time big data blending ‘at the source.’  The research and joint customer prototyping inside Pentaho Labs is driving innovation in big data integration and analytics through advanced technology incubation projects.

Ability to execute and completeness of vision were recognized in the 2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms, resulting in Pentaho’s improved placement. Gartner predicted in its report, “By 2015, enterprise buyers of BI platforms will predominantly purchase platforms that support both strong and broad business-user-accessible data discovery capabilities and IT-driven enterprise features for data reuse, governance, security and scalability.”

“Big data technologies are advancing at speeds like never before. To succeed in a market that has been valued at upwards of$19 billion, you need to be nimble with the mindset of relentless innovation,” said Quentin Gallivan, Chairman and CEO of Pentaho. “Pentaho’s trajectory with enterprise implementations validates our platform is a modern approach to ‘future-proofing’ customer deployments and keeping pace with this rapidly evolving big data environment. We’re looking forward to seeing this continue in 2014.”
