Parabole Introduces Alternative Data Analytics Powered by Cambridge Semantics’ AnzoGraph Database
BOSTON, July 10, 2019 — Cambridge Semantics announced that Parabole, a cognitive analytics technology company for the banking and financial service industries, has introduced AlphaESG, its latest alternative data platform powered by Cambridge Semantics’ AnzoGraph DB, a leading graph analytics database. AnzoGraph DB will enable Parabole to deliver state of art analytics at scale and speed. Applications built on Parabole’s latest platform include a range of solutions, including training data construction for AI applications, and delivering corporate research insights from alternative data.
Parabole’s AlphaESG is an end-user solution developed on its alternative data platform to automatically extract Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related information for research targets from any text-based source based upon user-defined ESG criteria. ESG is a set of criteria increasingly used by investors to evaluate potential investments based on sustainability, social responsibility, and governance performance. AlphaESG’s cognitive models are pre-trained to contextualize content and transform it into measurable parameters. This automation speeds research and allows analysts and portfolio managers to perform deeper, more thorough and repeatable analytics than can be achieved through manual processes.
“The combination of AnzoGraph and Parabole’s ability to mine knowledge from a diverse collection of unstructured and alternative data enables our customers to enjoy fast, easy and accurate discovery of signals within ESG-related alternative data sets and analyze them across the various dimensions to find alpha and facilitate better investment decision making,” said Anthony Sarkis, Chief Strategy Officer of Parabole. “Companies using knowledge graphs to describe and harmonize diverse data can build their own alternative data-based analytics solutions using AnzoGraph and Parabole. We provide the analytics scale, speed, and value-add algorithms to deliver insights, quickly.”
Parabole’s AlphaESG leverages AnzoGraph DB, a native, massively parallel processing (MPP), distributed graph analytics (Graph OLAP) database that provides inferencing, graph algorithms and advanced analytics at big data scale. AnzoGraph is based on W3C open RDF & SPARQL* standards and soon, OpenCypher industry standards on the same database, allowing companies to leverage diverse text processing, machine learning and other technologies from various vendors without vendor “lock-in” from proprietary technologies. AnzoGraph scales linearly to trillions of triples and more. Customers can incrementally add servers to provide increased scale and query performance speeds.
“Parabole’s AlphaESG exciting cognitive analytics solution, and its alternative data analytics platform, addresses the growing market need to use cutting-edge technologies like AnzoGraph, to provide effective and deeper insights to the financial industry,” said Steve Sarsfield, Vice President of AnzoGraph Product at Cambridge Semantics. “We are excited to be a part of Parabole’s alternative data platform. This joint offer, as well as other coming partnerships on our roadmap, demonstrates that graph databases have come of age as a valuable enterprise analytics engine.”
