Oracle Introduces New x86 Servers

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Oct. 3 — Oracle today announced new x86 servers, based on the latest Intel Xeon processors E5-2600 v2 product family. Oracle’s new Sun Server X4-2 and Sun Server X4-2L have set a SPECjEnterprise2010 world record for the best result achieved on a two-socket x86 server. Running Oracle WebLogic Server 12c and Oracle Database 12c on Oracle Linux, the Sun Server X4-2 delivered 11,259 EjOps.

Available now, Oracle’s new Sun Server X4-2, Sun Server X4-2L and Sun Blade X4-2B systems are ideal for a broad range of mission-critical business workloads, such as database, middleware and enterprise business workloads in virtualized environments, as well as high-density, clustered computing in an enterprise cloud environment.
