Noodle Partners and Stevens Institute of Technology Address Shifting Demand with Online Programs

HOBOKEN, N.J., July 1, 2020 — Responding quickly to adult learners’ needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Stevens Institute of Technology announced a new emphasis on high-demand online graduate programs by partnering with Noodle Partners, the fastest-growing online program manager. The first phase of the partnership includes revising and growing Stevens’ existing online Master of Science in Computer Science and launching a new online Master of Science in Data Science. Marketing of the programs commences in August 2020, with students beginning study in January 2021.

Long an innovation leader — Stevens was the first university to require students to use a computer and it developed one of the nation’s first intranets — Stevens launched StevensOnline to coalesce a growing body of online graduate programs in business, computer science, engineering, and systems engineering. Data science, a foundational pillar for Stevens, is routinely ranked as a thriving field in America. Offering the master’s degree in data science online will help meet growing demand for data scientists across the labor market. The existing online Master of Science in Computer Science, already a strong performer, will be enhanced and re-marketed to a wider audience of adult learners seeking the same high-quality Stevens’ degree without having to be on campus.

“Stevens is dedicated to providing students with the best possible educational experience and our collaboration with Noodle Partners is part of this ongoing mission,” said Christophe Pierre, Stevens’ provost and chief academic officer. “We know that an increasing number of students are looking for options beyond traditional classroom learning. By partnering with Noodle, we are building on our many years of leadership in online education to deliver our highly ranked graduate programs to students across the United States and around the world.”

“Stevens Institute of Technology is a vital new member of the Noodle Partners network, offering compelling STEM programs to a market hungry for computer and data science master’s degrees,” noted Noodle Partners CEO John Katzman. “Covid-19 is accelerating the preference for, and proliferation of, high-quality online degrees, and Stevens Institute of Technology will find a ready audience of students. We look forward to launching additional programs with Stevens in the future.”
