Mesosphere Enters Strategic Alliance with HPE, Announces New Integrations

SAN FRANCISCO, June 6, 2017 — Mesosphere – the creators of DC/OS, a premier platform for building and running data-rich, containerized applications – today announced a global strategic alliance with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to provide advanced hybrid infrastructure. The agreement includes Mesosphere integration with HPE Synergy composable hardware and HPE OneView management software platforms to help enterprise customers fully embrace the benefits and flexibility provided by hybrid IT, including optimized performance and faster service time-to-market.

The alliance builds on HPE’s original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and reseller agreement with Mesosphere announced in February, which helps customers transform and modernize their data centers with hybrid IT solutions that span traditional infrastructure, private and public cloud services. With HPE and Mesosphere DC/OS integration, joint customers can more readily modernize their environments and operations using cloud computing, containers and flash storage. The combined solution enables IT organizations to provide a public-cloud like experience to application development and big data teams within their existing data centers.

HPE Synergy is a composable infrastructure platform, combining compute, storage, fabric and networking into a pool of fluid resources. HPE’s unique infrastructure management software, HPE OneView, automates, provisions and configures resources according to application needs. Mesosphere’s integration with HPE OneView allows users to provision and update bare metal DC/OS nodes in the same way as virtual and cloud resources. This makes it easy for administrators to deploy and elastically scale a cluster on bare metal servers with just a few clicks; saving time, reducing the opportunity for error and streamlining auditing.

“At HPE, we’re committed to supporting customers by making hybrid IT simple,” said Antonio Neri, executive vice president and general manager, Enterprise Group, HPE. “By partnering with Mesosphere, customers can get the benefits of cloud native platform services powered by HPE composable infrastructure.”

“This strategic alliance completes an important third step: first we worked together with HPE to produce joint enablement and go-to-market strategies, then an OEM and reseller agreement, and now product and service integration,” said Florian Leibert, co-founder and CEO of Mesosphere. “Customers will see immediate efficiencies from our unified solution, while modernizing their IT operations via DC/OS software and HPE hardware and management platforms.”
