Lucidworks Fusion 3.1 Brings AI and Machine Learning to Cognitive Search Applications

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 21, 2017 — Lucidworks, the leader in enterprise search solutions, has announced Fusion 3.1, the latest version of its flagship data application development platform. Shortly after Fusion 3’s release in January, which enabled teams to build enterprise search apps easier and faster, Fusion 3.1 takes search one step further, introducing out-of-the-box AI and machine learning tools. This latest release also includes an improved user interface, enhanced security features, and advanced connector capabilities.

Organizations rely on Fusion to build and support enterprise-grade search applications that require minimal IT resources. With Fusion 3.1, built-in Apache Spark AI and machine learning features empower organizations to train, test, and deploy scalable machine learning models for query intent, recommendations, and search relevance tuning. Fusion users can leverage powerful new collaborative and personalized recommender algorithms to enhance the predictive search experience, significantly improving data insights.

“With each iteration of Fusion, Lucidworks raises the standard for building effective and powerful data applications,” explains Lucidworks’ CTO, Grant Ingersoll. “Fusion 3.1 brings more advanced capabilities to enterprises that rely on powerful, scalable search tools to connect their users with data. We’re continuing to integrate cutting-edge technology with Fusion such as ready-to-use AI and machine learning capabilities and new powerful recommenders that enable a customized search experience for every end user. Current Fusion users can also expect a more intuitive user interface that simplifies all stages of the application development process.”

Lucidworks continues to invest in talent with key hires on the AI and machine learning side including Andrew Musselman, former Chief Data Scientist at Accenture, and Jake Mannix, former ML/Data scientist at LinkedIn and Twitter.

Additional Fusion 3.1 features include:

  • SharePoint Online support to index data from the Microsoft collaboration suite.
  • Improved Job Management and Scheduling interface for streamlined operational efficiency
  • Enhanced security and authentication across indexing, analytics, monitoring and other Fusion services
  • New interface for visually exploring relationships among collections, ETL processes, parsers, and other Fusion objects

Fusion makes it faster and easier for teams to manage massive and traditionally unwieldy data sets and build applications that produce insights into an organization’s data and documents. Applications that previously required a large team of engineers and search experts to build, can now be created faster and with a much smaller team.
