Impetus to Showcase Streaming Analytics Capabilities at Spark Summit

LOS GATOS, Calif., March 19 — Impetus Technologies, a Big Data thought leader, software services and solutions company, today announced its participation as a sponsor and exhibitor at the Spark Summit to be held at The Sheraton Times Square in New York during March 18-19, 2015.

Today, large enterprises with their Big Data projects are indicating a growing interest in real-time streaming data analytics. Apache Spark Streaming is one of the prime technologies which addresses this need. Impetus offers consulting and implementation services for Apache Spark and has a dedicated pool of professionals working on large analytics projects for customers utilizing Spark and Storm processing engines.

Impetus is doing groundbreaking research work centered on Spark and building a distributed deep learning framework on Spark’s powerful in-memory computation engine. Impetus is also working on development of algorithms for Apache Spark which are over and above the ones already available in Spark MLlib.

At the Spark Summit this year, Impetus will demonstrate use cases and capabilities of Apache Spark. Impetus will also showcase StreamAnalytix — the only commercial platform leveraging open source technology stack for real-time streaming analytics. Currently based on Apache Storm, Kafka and with Spark on the product roadmap, StreamAnalytix offers the best of both worlds between enterprise class solutions and Open Source.

“StreamAnalytix would support various customers’ projects in areas including Internet-of-Things (IoT), sensor data analytics, e-commerce and internet advertising, security, fraud, insurance claim validation, call center analytics and log analytics,” says Anand Venugopal, Sr. Director, Business Development, StreamAnalytix. He further adds, “We will bring in support for Spark streaming later this year, so that enterprises can have multiple technology options and do not feel restricted.”
