Hortonworks Announces First Ever Hadoop Summit in Tokyo

TOKYO, Japan, Oct. 18 — Host Hortonworks (NASDAQ: HDP) today announced the first Hadoop Summit Japan taking place in Tokyo. Hadoop Summit is the premier industry event for those seeking insight and best practices about the transformational impact of big data on organizations. The conference will take place October 26th – 27th, 2016 at the Hilton Hotel in Tokyo and features more than 60 speakers across 48 sessions.

Attendees with both business and technical perspectives will learn about the big data enablers, including Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark that are fueling digital transformations. Hadoop Summit is a unique event where all sessions are by pragmatists and experts in their fields and have been selected by the community. Attendees will develop an understanding of key technologies powering new modern data applications and the value they generate for organizations. With successful events already this year in Ireland, USA, and Australia, Hadoop Summit has become the go-to event providing  the global community-vetted practical guidance to novices as well as experienced data practitioners.

In addition, Nobuyuki Ishikawa, Manager, Big Data Product Development Group from Recruit Technologies will deliver a keynote. Hortonworks is proud to highlight Recruit Technologies as the co-host of Hadoop Summit Tokyo.

Complementing the keynotes are two “Future of Data” customer panels in which representatives from Coca-Cola East Japan,  Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus, Yahoo Japan and LIXIL discuss their journey with Connected Data Platforms, from proof of concept to production.
