Elastic Achieves FedRAMP ‘In Process’ Milestone

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 18, 2020 — Elastic N.V., the company behind Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack, today announced that it has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) “In Process” status for FedRAMP Moderate.

With Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud now available on AWS GovCloud, government agencies can easily deploy Elastic’s solutions — Enterprise SearchObservability, and Security — in the cloud. Elasticsearch Service is a simple, fast, and secure way for government customers to run Elastic deployments in the cloud.

FedRAMP “In Process” status signifies the addition of Elastic Cloud to the FedRAMP marketplace — a listing of certified solutions for government organizations. Elastic is working with Coalfire, a leading cybersecurity assessment and advisory company, on its FedRAMP advisory needs. Elastic is expected to achieve FedRAMP Authorized status within the year as mandated by the FedRAMP “In Process” status.

FedRAMP ensures a more streamlined procurement process for U.S. federal customers by standardizing security requirements across federal agencies. The rigor of the program is intended to allow agencies to choose authorized cloud solutions with confidence and adopt new technologies that meet various levels of security requirements and certification.

“Elastic is already widely used in the cloud across the Department of Defense and civilian agencies. With availability on AWS GovCloud and a FedRAMP ‘In Process’ designation for Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud, our federal customers will now have the option to use the official Elastic-managed and fully hosted cloud offering,” said George Young, Vice President of U.S. Public Sector at Elastic.
