DroneDeploy Launches Auto Pilots Solution for Drone Insights

SAN FRANCISCO, April 16, 2018 — DroneDeploy, a drone software company with the largest drone data platform in the world, has announced their Auto Pilots solution to unlock actionable drone insights for everyone. The solution lets customers plan a flight mission using DroneDeploy’s cloud platform—and then simply request a certified professional pilot from DroneBase, the largest global drone operations company, who will go to the site, perform the flight, and collect the aerial data. It dramatically streamlines a complicated drone data collection process—putting instant, high-resolution aerial data into the hands of all.

“The future of drones is automation, but until drones can execute a planned flight without any human supervision, we need a simple solution that helps businesses of any size integrate drones into their workflows. We’re proud to integrate with DroneBase to make accessing aerial insights much easier—democratizing data for small businesses and enterprises alike,” said Mike Winn, CEO of DroneDeploy.

The solution is possible through a partnership with DroneBase, since the company has the largest and most skilled drone pilot network. The partnership allows DroneDeploy platform users across industries such as construction, solar, insurance, and agriculture to pay $99 to get a drone flight flown by a local certified pilot instead of traveling to a jobsite. After planning a flight and requesting a pilot with the DroneBase Auto Pilots app inside the DroneDeploy platform, photos, maps and 3D models appear in a user’s account within 72 hours—letting organizations make smarter decisions based on near-instant data.

“Democratizing drone data is tantamount—data shouldn’t be limited to those who can pay for it,” said Dan Burton, CEO and Co-founder of DroneBase. “Through our partnership with DroneDeploy, we will allow a wider range of businesses to unlock the power of drone insights.”

In streamlining the data collection process, DroneDeploy is also radically reducing the barrier to entry for both small and large organizations who could benefit from valuable drone-collected data. Currently, any business who wants to adopt drone technology has to worry about setting standard operating practices, buying insurance, training drone pilots, and maintaining hardware. With Auto Pilots, organizations can get on-demand insights at affordable prices—and avoid having to invest in hardware, training and insurance.
