Bobby Soni to Lead Hitachi Vantara’s Digital Infrastructure Business Unit as President

July 10, 2020 — Hitachi Vantara announced that Bobby Soni will replace Brian Householder as the next president of the company’s Digital Infrastructure Business Unit. In a blog posted below, Toshiaki Tokunaga, chairman and CEO at Hitachi Vantara, shared the news noting that Householder cultivated a distinguished 17-year career at the company. Soni moves up from his current role as chief operating officer at DIBU. He’s also held the roles of chief solutions and services officer, and senior vice president of cloud, global services and emerging solutions.

Tokunaga writes:

I am pleased to share with you today that Bobby Soni has agreed to become the new president of Hitachi Vantara’s Digital Infrastructure Business Unit (DIBU), effective August 3rd, 2020. Bobby will succeed Brian Householder, who will be leaving Hitachi after 17 years of distinguished service to pursue a new chapter in his career.

Many of you will already know Bobby very well. He has served for the past year as chief operating officer for DIBU. He was previously our chief solutions and services officer, and senior vice president of cloud, global services and emerging solutions. Prior to joining Hitachi, Bobby had already built a highly accomplished career as a vice president at IBM, chief strategy officer at Webify Solutions (acquired by IBM), and as a chief technology officer at KPMG. His passion for technology market transitions will serve our customers and partners well as we collaborate with them to deliver the most agile core-to-edge-to-cloud digital infrastructure.

As we welcome Bobby to his new role, we also celebrate Brian’s impressive accomplishments. He joined our company in the early 2000s in business development and marketing roles and then rose through the ranks to become CEO, and most recently, president of DIBU.

Brian’s passion for continuous learning, his belief in a winning mindset, and his commitment to doing business the right way every time have left an indelible mark on our organization. Through his strategic thinking and keen market insight, Brian has helped lay the foundation for our digital infrastructure business and bolstered our capabilities and portfolio through innovation, as well as mergers and acquisitions, to increase our differentiation and scale. We sincerely thank Brian for his contributions and for all that he has achieved.

As we look to the future, our digital infrastructure-related products, solutions and services will continue to be critically important to the company’s vision and strategy. We are excited to see what Bobby and Gajen Kandiah, our incoming CEO, can accomplish together. The future is bright!

I hope you will join me in welcoming Bobby to his new role and thanking Brian for his contributions to Hitachi.
