UCLA machine learning model helps CDC predict the spread of COVID-19

A team at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering has developed a machine learning model to help the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) predict the spread of COVID-19. The model is epidemiology-driven – rather than relying on confirmed cases and fatalities – and is one of only two models in the 13-model hub that uses machine learning.
