Collibra Announces New ‘Privacy & Risk’ Product

Collibra, a data governance software firm with headquarters in New York City and Brussels, has announced the launch of Collibra Privacy & Risk, an enterprise-targeted product that aims to improve businesses’ ability to comply with privacy regulations and allow for more data insights.

Collibra Privacy & Risk – which will become available in September of this year – includes modules that enable compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR, of course, has been a source of major upheaval in data-oriented industries and related enterprises with online presences, requiring new compliance approaches from a wide range of businesses and organizations.

“Consumers and customers see data privacy and security as a fundamental right, and global organizations must adapt to this with a culture shift towards an ethical and thoughtful approach to data,” said Jim Cushman, chief product officer for Collibra. “With privacy regulations accelerating across the globe, Collibra is at the forefront of embracing data privacy not just as a compliance initiative, but serving as a strategic service that helps organizations liberate and democratize data for the purposes of exploring new analytics, developing new products, engaging and training AI and machine learning, and driving forward data intelligence.”

Collibra also indicated that Privacy & Risk would be well-suited for future regulatory requirements – a “sustainable approach to compliance.” Using Privacy & Risk, Collibra says, users can manage data privacy policies and data process activity registers, perform data protection impact assessments, and demonstrate compliance to regulators.

Privacy & Risk is designed to integrate with the rest of Collibra’s platform, including Collibra Data Governance and Collibra Catalog.
