Big Data Career Notes: September 2018 Edition

Asif Ahmed

Infutor, a consumer identity management company, has announced that Asif Ahmed has been selected as its new vice president of analytics. Prior to his new role at Infutor, Ahmed was vice president of product management at Aginity, Inc. and vice president of product and operations for SmartMD.

“I’m excited to welcome Asif to the Infutor team as he will play a critical role in enhancing our consumer identities, attributes and intelligence value proposition,” said Gary Walter, Infutor’s president and CEO. “Our marketing clients are looking for scalable, on-demand offerings that leverage first and third-party data to improve outbound targeting, inbound engagement and customer conversions. Asif has a proven track record of developing solutions that streamline arduous data science and analytics processes to efficiently deliver actionable insights.”

Adam Meister

Talend has announced that it has appointed Adam Meister as chief financial officer. Previously, Meister was a managing director in the Technology, Media and Telecom Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, Meister held various roles at J.P. Morgan, Visa, Deutsche Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

“This is a tremendous time to join Talend,” said Adam Meister, CFO, Talend. “Data management is being reinvented and Talend, purpose-built for modern cloud platforms and advanced analytics use cases, is the next generation leader. I’m looking forward to being part of a very talented leadership team and putting my skills to work to help support continued market innovation and company growth.”

Greg Smirin

Interana, an event data platform developer, has announced a new leadership team headed up by CEO Greg Smirin. Smirin is joining Interana from leadership positions at the Climate Corporation, eHarmony, Proofpoint, and VeriSign.

“A big change in business today is the proliferation of event data, which measures every customer action,” said Smirin. “The most iconic companies like Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google and Microsoft, use event data to understand what customers do; not just in aggregate or on average, but through each customer’s specific actions. With Interana’s event data platform, employees in every department can understand immediately how and why customers have problems, and what transforms a regular customer to a great customer.”

Matt Zames

Immuta, a data management company for AI, has appointed Matt Zames to its board of directors. Zames, the president of Cerberus Capital Management, L.P., was formerly the COO of J.P. Morgan. Zames has a long history in the investment banking business.

“Immuta has created a remarkable platform that enables organizations to build trusted AI environments that are easily accessible, understandable, and auditable,” commented Mr. Zames. “As a board member, I look forward to advising Immuta’s talented leadership team as they seek to further elevate its platform and capitalize on the accelerating adoption of critical enterprise technology solutions.”
