Previously, he was a researcher for AT&T Research Labs and Texas Instruments. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

“I am excited to become part of the TigerGraph team at such a pivotal time for the company,” said Dr. Alin Deutsch, chief scientist at TigerGraph. “Graphs have been a major part of my research and I look forward to spearheading new technical innovation in graph analytics. Christopher Lynch

AtScale has announced the appointment of Christopher Lynch as executive chairman and CEO. Lynch previously served as chairman and CEO at Vertica Systems and as CEO and co-founder of Acopia Networks. Throughout his career, Lynch has raised over $150M in capital and returned more than $7B to investors and shareholders.

“After meeting Dave Mariani (co-founder, AtScale), seeing the company’s ability to federate what are traditionally ‘islands of information’ and seamlessly enable cloud transformation, I couldn’t wait to get involved,” said Chris Lynch, Chief Executive Officer, AtScale. “AtScale’s technology is delivering tremendous flexibility and business value to enterprises as they shift towards multi-platform and multi-cloud deployments, providing a single application interface to alleviate all of the complexity.”

Bethany Mayer

DataStax, provider of a distributed cloud database built on Apache Cassandra, has appointed Bethany Mayer to its Board of Directors. Mayer is currently an executive partner at Siris Capital Group and as a board member for Marvell Semiconductor and Sempra Energy. Mayer has also served in executive roles at Blue Coat Systems, Cisco Systems and Apple.

“DataStax has proven a strong partner and database provider to some of the world’s biggest and best-known enterprises spanning beloved consumer brands and B2B titans,” said Bethany Mayer. “I am excited to join the board of directors of DataStax at this time of strong growth and big opportunity–and I’m particularly enthusiastic to work with my colleagues on the board and Billy as CEO to help elevate and extend the DataStax brand and deliver outsized business results to DataStax enterprise customers.”

Steven Wastie

Unravel Data, an application performance management platform designed for big data applications, has announced the appointment of Steven Wastie as chief marketing officer. Wastie has more than 20 years of business experience and previously served as CMO at AppDynamics and CMO at Origami Logic.

“The continued transformation of modern application architectures continues to present significant opportunities to innovate and disrupt. Unravel has come to market with the industry’s leading solution to not only provide visibility into how these applications are performing but to also provide granular insights and recommendations to auto-tune and auto-remediate issues proactively or as they occur.  As a new generation of applications that depend on the big data stack are going into production, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), customer analytics, machine learning and fraud prevention, they require a different approach to deal with much higher data volumes, a much more distributed run-time and continuous deployment methodology,” stated Wastie. “Unravel has already experienced unprecedented customer validation very early on from leaders in the technology, healthcare and finance industries. I am humbled to join such a talented team and excited to help them drive continued growth and market leadership.”
