WANdisco Non-Stop Hadoop Now Ready to Run on Oracle Big Data Appliance

SAN RAMON, Calif., July 17 — In a significant advance to its distribution channel strategy, WANdisco has successfully completed certification with Oracle, enabling its Non-Stop Hadoop software to run on Oracle Big Data Appliance.

WANdisco’s Non-Stop Hadoop for Oracle Big Data Appliance version 1.9 achieves Oracle Big Data Appliance Ready status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), demonstrating that WANdisco supports Non-Stop Hadoop for Oracle Big Data Appliance version 1.9 with Oracle Big Data Appliance and Oracle Linux. WANdisco is a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork.

Our support of Oracle Big Data Appliance reflects the ongoing adoption of Hadoop by enterprise customers that want to use Hadoop in production environments to capture and analyze large volumes of unstructured data. It has been given additional impetus by the request of one of WANdisco’s prospective customers in automotive manufacturing that wants to access Oracle appliances in conjunction with WANdisco’s continuous availability layer. Customers like this are concluding that for Big Data to be used for mission-critical applications, it has to be continuously available over a wide area network.
