Trifacta Teams with Hortonworks

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 3 — At Hadoop Summit 2014 (Booth #P3), Trifacta, a Data Transformation platform provider, today announced it has joined the Hortonworks Certified Technology Program and has certified the Trifacta Data Transformation Platform with the latest Hortonworks Data Platform, 2.1. By integrating with the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), the industry’s leading 100-percent open source Apache Hadoop distribution, Trifacta is empowering business users, data scientists and IT programmers to accelerate the transformation of raw data into data ready for analysis across the enterprise for improved business results.

Trifacta and Hortonworks share a commitment to accelerate open source enterprise Hadoop adoption, improving data analysis and changing the way people work with data. Currently, transforming data into a usable form takes up the bulk of the data analysis process. This primarily manual transformation process is a bottleneck that stalls projects and inhibits the data stack’s ability to scale to the needs of the business. Trifacta clears the bottleneck and allows users to quickly and easily transform raw data into an actionable form, whether for immediate insights or for use in analysis tools.

“With the momentum behind big data and the use of 100-percent open source Hadoop growing, organizations are turning to solutions that will increase the agility of big data analysis,” said John Kreisa, vice president of Strategic Marketing, Hortonworks. “Certifying Trifacta’s Predictive Interaction technology with the Hortonworks Data Platform helps users transform new data, find more use cases, and rapidly expand their enterprise Hadoop deployments.”

Combining the reliability and stability of the Hortonworks Data Platform with Trifacta’s unique Predictive Interaction technology allows users to create concise data transformation scripts that compile natively in Hadoop and are designed to scale. As part of today’s announcement, Hortonworks has certified the Trifacta platform with the Hortonworks Data Platform, ensuring the ongoing compatibility of Trifacta’s Data Transformation Platform to Hortonworks’ enterprise Apache Hadoop users.

“With the Hortonworks open enterprise data platform, users are encouraged to work creatively with data in ways that are transformative to organizations. Without the constraints of rigid schema, data can provide value beyond the accountancy pipeline and impact core business processes, like improving customer experience, identifying operational inefficiencies, and assessing the probability of fraudulent behavior,” said Sean Kandel, CTO and co-founder of Trifacta. “Hortonworks understands the value that comes from combining our platform with the Hortonworks Data Platform and enabling those that work with data to be more productive and agile.”
