Talend and Basho Team to Help Organizations Make Leap to NoSQL and Big Data

March 19 — Talend, the global integration software leader, has announced it is working with Basho Technologies, the leader in distributed systems and creator of Riak, to address business pain points around migrating data from relational to NoSQL databases, which offer enhanced scalability and faster, more cost-effective access to data.

As big data projects reach maturity and the volume of data stored in databases escalates, the predictable scaling and flexible structure of NoSQL databases is becoming increasingly attractive to businesses of all types and sizes.

Talend and Basho are collaborating on a range of projects that address customer challenges in transitioning to NoSQL and help to exploit the benefits that the technology can bring. Basho supplies the underlying database, Riak, its open source distributed NoSQL database. Talend provides powerful integration technology through its native big data integration solutions. This partnership makes it simple for customers to quickly transition their data into Riak, or use Riak in conjunction with technologies like Hadoop for big data analytics.

“A growing number of customers are looking to migrate data to more flexible, distributed NoSQL environments,” said Jeremy Hill, Marketing Manager at Basho. “Through our partnership with Talend, customers can now migrate to Riak and other big data solutions with ease – which, in turn, saves customers valuable time and money so they can get up and running quickly.”

“By pooling our resources, we can provide an integrated solution that enables this migration work for customers and eliminates the need for them to pull together a piecemeal solution themselves from scratch.”

“Businesses are increasingly seeing the benefits of transitioning to NoSQL data management environments, but they can sometimes be reluctant to take the plunge because of the perceived risks involved,” says François Chiche, VP Alliances at Talend. “By working with Basho and offering customers our complementary technologies working in tandem, we can help ease that transition for businesses and enable them to get a faster return on their data investment.”

“For companies looking to get embryonic big data projects up and running, this partnership will simplify deployment and enable them to fulfil programs faster and more cost effectively than before,” Chiche continues. “We pride ourselves on our open source credentials and our ability to simplify big data deployments. Working with Basho enables us to strengthen and expand these capabilities further.”
