Talend Grows 78 Percent in Q1 Powered by Big Data

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 7 — Talend, the global big data integration software leader, today announced its sales in the first quarter of 2015 increased by 78 percent as compared to the same period last year. The strong performance was fueled by the continued acceleration of its big data business, with strong demand from both existing customers and first-time buyers. Talend continued to gain large enterprise-class customers and market share from traditional data integration vendors such as IBM, Informatica and Oracle. In fact, Talend secured over a dozen long-term subscription agreements with firms on the Forbes Global 2000.

“I’m delighted by our solid progress in the first quarter driven by growth across our product lines, in particular our big data business, and strong execution by our sales, marketing and development teams,” said Mike Tuchen, CEO, Talend. “There is a once-in-a-generation shift taking place in the industry as the entire data-management stack gets redefined. Companies now recognize that data is a competitive advantage and are turning away from legacy integration solutions to more agile and modern solutions that are optimized for Hadoop. This is paying off for Talend as we continue to grow our market share and beat out traditional vendors in head-to-head competitive bids.”

In addition to strong growth for Talend Big Data in the first quarter, Talend experienced strong early interest for its newly announced cloud product from both existing and new customers. Available later this month, Talend Integration Cloud is a hosted cloud integration platform that provides instant, elastic and secure capacity so IT teams can easily shift workloads between on-premises and the cloud, increasing agility, performance and productivity, while lowering operational costs.

To help cultivate the growing interest in Talend Master Data Management, which surged 86 percent in 2014, Talend unveiled a new Passport for MDM Success in March. In collaboration with industry leading consulting partners, the program aims to help and accelerate MDM implementations by providing detailed guidance to companies during the critical project-planning phases. Other quarterly highlights include the launch of a new VAR Program in Europe. The program has helped increase Talend solution awareness, availability and support at a time when a growing number of companies in the UK, France and Germany are looking to update and optimize their IT infrastructure and use data more effectively across their organizations.
