Talend Announces Solution Integration With Amazon Aurora

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 28 — Talend, a global leader in big data integration software, today announced that Talend Platform 5.6 and Talend Integration Cloud now integrate with Amazon Aurora, the MySQL-compatible relational database management system (RDBMS) from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Both Talend solutions allow customers to take advantage of AWS’s latest database engine that blends the speed and efficiencies of high-end commercial databases with the simplicity and cost benefits of open source databases.

Amazon Aurora is designed to provide up to five times better performance than MySQL at a price point one-tenth that of a commercial RDBMS and all while delivering similar performance and availability. Amazon Aurora joins MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL as the fifth relational database engine available to customers through Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS).

Using either Talend Platform or Talend Integration Cloud, customers can leverage the power of Amazon Aurora while easily moving data between Amazon RDS database instances and Amazon Redshift clusters. Talend solutions can also manage the migration of data from legacy databases, batch and bulk operations, and transactional workloads.

“Given the rapid adoption of AWS among our customers and prospects, it is extremely important for us to continue to technically align ourselves and enable our customers to take advantage of the latest innovations such as Amazon Aurora through a seamless integration process with our solutions,” said Laurent Bride, CTO, Talend. “Our customers absolutely appreciate the availability and durability of Amazon Aurora, as well as its highly attractive price performance ratio and ability to scale easily for large workloads.”

In addition to supporting loading and extracting from Amazon Aurora, Talend solutions also streamline the movement from Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). Talend continues to develop new joint offerings with partners such as 47Lining and Full360 to help expedite and optimize customers’ use of AWS.

“We are delighted by the enthusiasm and support for Amazon Aurora we are receiving from the market, including support from open-source rooted companies like Talend,” said Terry Wise, Vice President, Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “Talend solutions make it easy for AWS customers to migrate data from legacy databases like Oracle and SQL Server as well as provide additional options for integrating with Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3 and Amazon RDS.”

Talend’s acclaimed on-premises Integration Platform continues to set new benchmarks for big data productivity and profiling, Master Data Management (MDM) innovation, as well as real-time and operational data project support. Introduced in March and updated earlier this month, Talend Integration Cloud, which is powered by AWS, is a secure and hosted platform that allows IT teams to easily shift workloads between on-premises and the cloud, increasing agility, performance and productivity.
