Metaswitch and Mesosphere Collaborate to Integrate Project Calico With Apache Mesos

LONDON, U.K., Aug. 21 — Metaswitch Networks, the world’s leading network software provider, and Mesosphere are collaborating to integrate Project Calico with Apache Mesos, the Mesosphere Datacenter Operating System (DCOS), MesosDNS, Marathon and other frameworks. For Mesos and Mesosphere DCOS users, the result of this collaboration will be a simplified process for managing clusters of servers in a data center environment.

Mesos and Mesosphere DCOS users want to build cloud-native applications without having to worry about distributed systems architectures or complex networking constructs. Thanks to the integration with Calico, this will be the reality. They will be able to initiate workloads using Marathon and other frameworks that seamlessly communicate with one another using a flat, routed IP network that eliminates port conflict issues and provides fine-grained workload isolation. And users won’t have to be networking experts to make it all work.

Christos Kozyrakis, director of research at Mesosphere, and Spike Curtis of the Project Calico team will be demonstrating how Calico and Mesos are working together live on stage at #MesosCon today at 4:50 p.m. PDT during their session on Mesos Networking and Service Discovery.

Metaswitch’s product team and core developers will be at Booth 203 at #MesosCon 2015 in Seattle today and tomorrow to discuss the integration with Mesosphere and all the other ways Metaswitch can help network operators build simple, scalable cloud networks.
