Impetus Technologies to Lead Four Thought Leadership Sessions at Hadoop Summit

LOS GATOS, Calif.June 22 — Impetus Technologies, a big data software products and services company, today announced it will be a platinum-level sponsor at the 2016 Hadoop Summit, a leading conference for the Apache Hadoop community. Taking place June 28-30 in San Jose, California, Impetus Technologies will be exhibiting and leading a number of sessions on a range of advanced big data analytics thought leadership topics.

“As an early adopter of Apache Hadoop, Impetus Technologies has been a long time Hortonworks partner. This partnership provides our joint HDP and HDF customers with complementary full lifecycle system integration services and Hortonworks certified software solutions,” said Scott Gnau, chief technology officer, Hortonworks. “Their solutions reduce the effort involved in data warehouse migration to HDP and in the implementation of real-time streaming data analytics when using HDF in conjunction with their offering, StreamAnalytix. We are delighted to have them as a platinum sponsor at this year’s Hadoop Summit in San Jose.”

Impetus Technologies’ big data experts will lead four thought leadership discussions. Topics range from automated migration of workloads from enterprise warehouses to Hadoop, accelerating data warehouse migration to Hadoop through to data lake-driven big data warehouse platforms, hybrid cloud-based data platforms, and streaming analytics app development and tips for modernizing all aspects of data warehousing on Hadoop, including the application of OLAP at massive scale on Hadoop.

Details on the sessions are as follows:

Speakers: Vineet Tyagi, chief technology officer, Impetus Technologies and Ajay Anand, vice president of products, Kyvos Insights
Session Track: Technical – Cloud and Operations
Session Title: “Accelerating Data Warehouse Migration to Hadoop”
Date/Time/RoomWednesday, June 2911:30 a.m.-12:10 p.m. PT, Room 230C
Session Details: This session will discuss how organizations are increasingly seeking alternatives to traditional enterprise data warehouses (EDW), and as a result, are considering a move to Hadoop for its cost-effective and scalable framework for storing and processing big data. Attendees will learn the best practices for assessing what can be migrated, performing an impact/ROI analysis, and developing plans for data migration, offloading ETL, managing security and building a consumable data layer for business users. It will also evaluate results obtained by enterprises that have embarked on this journey, including an assessment of operational benefits, acceptance by end users and reduction in time to market.

Speaker: Shankar Radhakrishnan, director of big data engineering, Impetus Technologies
Session Track: Technical – Cloud and Operations
Session Title: “Hybrid Data Platform – Cloud Environment Connected With On-Premise Data Environment”
Date/Time/Room: Wednesday, June 29, from 5:50-6:30 p.m. PT, Ballroom B
Session Details: This talk will address how the capability of churning data in real-time is critical for the success of industries such as manufacturing, logistics, financial services, retail and communications. To do this, enterprises are considering moving to solutions such as Hadoop for Hybrid Cloud, which offers benefits such as control, flexibility, elasticity, and reducing redundancy as well as access to a range of analytics cloud services. The presentation will focus on how to build a cloud-based hybrid platform on Hadoop, as well as offer insights on establishing a secure network gateway on the platform, certifying environments on any applicable regulatory and compliance needs and building distributed data architecture with intelligence layers to transfer data between on premise and cloud environments.

Speakers: Anand Venugopal, head of product, StreamAnalytix, Impetus Technologies and Punit Shah, technical architect, Impetus Technologies
Session Track: Technical – IoT and Streaming
Session Title: “Lego-Like Building Blocks of Storm and Spark-Streaming Pipelines for Rapid IoT and Streaming Analytics App Development”
Date/Time/Room: Thursday, June 30, from 2:10-2:50 p.m. PT, Room 230 C
Session Details: This talk will focus on how companies are moving towards an IoT and fast-data dominated enterprise landscape, where developers will create, test and deploy raw stream-processing functionality initially from scratch. However, as demand grows for these applications and use cases are quickly created and deployed, the pressure will increase for shorter time lines. The speakers will demonstrate approaches enabling developers to create and connect a wide variety of Lego-like blocks of stream processing pipelines, such as data filtering blocks, ETL logic blocks, data cleaning blocks and many others.

Speaker: Vineet Tyagi, chief technology officer, Impetus Technologies
Session Track: Technical (Sponsor track)
Session Title: “Swimming Across the Data Lake – Lessons Learned and Keys to Success”
Date/Time/RoomThursday, June 304:10-4:50 p.m. PT, Room 230C
Session Details: This discussion will cover the explosion in the volume of structured and unstructured data sources and how the requirements for scalability to store this massive amount of data in the current data warehouse environment is causing costs to spiral out of control. Attendees will also hear about successful customer engagements, and gain knowledge on automated “lift and drop” strategies for migration of workloads from enterprise warehouses to data lake-driven big data warehouse platforms.

Impetus Technologies will be exhibiting at booth number 1105, where it will demonstrate StreamAnalytix – a leading platform for accelerating the development of real-time streaming analytics applications with support for Apache Spark Streaming. The company will also feature the capabilities of its recently announced data warehouse transformation practice.
