DataStax to Host Cassandra Summit 2016

July 26 — DataStax, the leading provider of database software for cloud applications, today announced it will host the seventh annual Cassandra Summit from September 7-9, 2016 at the San Jose Convention Center. The event will feature keynotes from DataStax CEO, Billy Bosworth; Apache Cassandra Project Chair and DataStax Co-founder and CTO, Jonathan Ellis; and, Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group Digital Architect, Rajay Rai.

Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group Chief Digital Officer, Luis Uguina said Macquarie Bank is using DataStax Enterprise to help power its digital banking transformation and develop a world class digital experience, which will be covered in Rajay Rai’s address. “Through our digital transformation, we are embracing the distributed computing and machine learning technologies used by the world’s leading digital companies and applying them to retail banking, as we work to deliver a truly intuitive and personalized digital banking experience for our customers,” he said.

Cassandra Summit 2016

The three-day event consists of one hands-on training day and two full conference days with more than 130 deep dive technical sessions for developers, administrators and executives. Speaking sessions and tracks will cover topics including analytics, beginner and advanced development, beginner and advanced operations, internals and theory, and in-depth use cases. There will be numerous opportunities to learn about the world’s greatest Cassandra implementations from community users and DataStax experts and various community and networking opportunities. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to become certified as a Cassandra developer through the O’Reilly Media and DataStax Apache Cassandra Certification Exam.
