Datameer Launches Teams in Hong Kong and Singapore to Meet Growing Demand for Big Data Technology

Feb. 2 — Kicking off its aggressive expansion into Asia-Pacific, Datameer today announced that it has launched teams in Hong Kong and Singapore to meet growing global demand for its big data analytics technology.

Following a $US40 million round of funding in August 2015 with lead investor ST Telemedia (STT), Datameer is focusing on growing its geographic footprint. The company has already established strong and consistent growth in North America and Europe, with nearly 200 employees and hundreds of customers worldwide.

At the helm is seasoned international executive Jason Bissell, vice president and managing director, bringing over 18 years of experience in enterprise business analytics and cloud computing from companies such as Birst, Qlik and Business Objects.

Founded in 2009, Datameer is the first company to simplify the big data analytics process into a single solution to integrate, prepare, analyze, visualize, and operationalize big data. Datameer’s familiar spreadsheet-style interface and point-and-click functionality makes it accessible for a broader group of users, rather than just for technical roles.

“We knew from the start that democratizing big data analytics would become a global mission and now we’re one step closer with our Asia-Pacific team,” said Stefan Groschupf, CEO of Datameer. “With every new business analyst, doctor or scientist that can work directly with his or her own data, we are enabling people to help change the world with big data analytics.”

“Our experience across a number of verticals and use cases puts us in a prime position to help the unique business needs of the Asia-Pacific region,” said Jason Bissel, VP and managing director of APAC at Datameer. “It’s exciting to deliver this kind of innovation to businesses that are now turning their attention to big data as a game-changer.”
