Data Intensity Acquires Clear Measures

BEDFORD, Mass., Oct. 15 – Data Intensity, the industry leader in application management and cloud services for Oracle technologies and applications, today announced that it has acquired business analytics and database management specialist Clear Measures. This acquisition enables Data Intensity to provide clients with a single, trusted partner for transforming their data into manageable, meaningful and measurable drivers of business value.

Business-to-business enterprises and consumer brands across the globe have turned to Data Intensity for more than a decade to manage their most critical applications and databases. Companies rely on Data Intensity’s highly specialized domain expertise and application managed services, database managed services, and purpose-built cloud solutions to overcome the challenges of growing operational complexity, increasing infrastructure, software and support costs, and lack of qualified personnel.

This acquisition gives Data Intensity the capabilities to significantly extend its database technology coverage and remote managed services, as well as enter the analytics and business intelligence services market with proven solutions—already validated by more than 200 successful Clear Measures customer implementations. Together, the companies deliver a comprehensive set of services that help organizations efficiently and cost-effectively meet application and database management requirements, as well as tap the value of their data. Specifically, the combined entity provides organizations with top to bottom services for organizing data (at the database level), making it accessible (at the application level), and making it meaningful by applying analytics tools and expertise that deliver actionable business insights.

“Data Intensity has been a valued partner, alleviating the complexities of application and database management as well as our migration to Oracle R12,” said Irwin Weiss, CIO, AspenTech. “The company’s Oracle EBS functional services expertise is excellent, and has enabled us to respond quickly to evolving business requirements, while also driving down our costs. Data Intensity’s acquisition of Clear Measures will provide an expansion of services that could deliver even greater value to AspenTech.”

With this acquisition, Data Intensity has almost doubled its annual revenue, customer base and global presence. The company, which has consistently achieved year over year double-digit revenue growth, has added significant bench strength and positioned itself to distinctively meet market demand for 24×7 outsourced application and database management as well as Big Data analytics. Data Intensity is now over 500 professionals strong and serves more than 400 customers worldwide, including: Aramark, AspenTech, Boston College, Dunkin Donuts, Haemonetics, Hearst Corporation, Hologic, International Data Corporation (IDC), iRobot, Lindt USA, Oxfam International, Toshiba, Segway and ServiceMaster. The company operates two data centers with purpose-built hosting capability and provides remote management services to more than 250 data centers globally.

“Organizations are already challenged by the resource requirements and complexity of managing mission-critical applications, databases and systems on a 24×7 basis. The emergence of Big Data as a technology-driven business opportunity is exciting, but adds to the pressure organizations already feel in trying to deliver more with less,” said Kirk Arnold, CEO, Data Intensity. “By uniting with Clear Measures, we can now enable customers to realize the business value of Big Data as well as the advantages of the cloud. We give organizations the breadth of capabilities, expertise, capacity and cost savings they need to make their data manageable, plus the analytics and business intelligence services they need to make their data meaningful.”

“By merging our professional services and technology skills, rich experience and breadth of offerings, we’ve created a single, go-to source with unmatched credentials to help organizations optimize their infrastructures and capitalize on their data. We free customers from the shackles of IT management as well as provide them with data insights that are crucial to meeting their business goals,” said John Bostick, founder and CEO of Clear Measures. “Equally important, both companies share the same values and unwavering commitment to customer success—as demonstrated by the caliber of organizations we collectively serve.”

Clear Measures’ database management services will be integrated into Data Intensity’s core offerings over time. In addition, the company has created a new division, led by Bostick, which will be focused on growing the data analytics business.
