ClearStory Data Partners with Hortonworks

MENLO PARK, Calif. and NEW YORK CITY, N.Y., March 18 ClearStory Data, the company bringing business-oriented Data Intelligence to everyone, today announced at the Spark Summit East conference, that it has teamed up with Hortonworks, the leading contributor to and provider of enterprise Apache Hadoop, to address the requirements of large-scale data processing on data residing in Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) and data governance for Hadoop data lake initiatives. ClearStory Data is already a member of the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program and is certified on HDP. The end goal of the ClearStory Data integration with HDP is faster data processing via ClearStory’s Spark-based analytics engine, robust data governance and business-ready data exploration for meaningful insights.

Enterprises in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries are quickly ramping up their data lake initiatives to harness the terabytes and petabytes of internal and external data for fast business answers and deeper data intelligence. The combination of ClearStory Data’s solution with HDP allows these organizations to reach bigger insights, faster, and enable business groups to answer new questions from large volumes of data in HDP. Use cases span clinical trial analysis to assess drug effectiveness and speed the cycle from diagnosis to cures, medical issues by region and demographics, human and device-generated sensor data, as well as analysis of prescription drug uptake based on diagnosis and demographics. Organizations can now leverage their data lake consisting of many disparate data sources to perform data analysis and make fast decisions that have immediate impact on patient care and diagnosis. ClearStory Data’s Spark-based data processing and analytics solutions along with its data governance capabilities make it possible for these organizations to accelerate their data lake initiatives with HDP.

“We’re pleased to work with ClearStory Data to help enterprises accelerate self-service data consumption from Hadoop and the Hortonworks Data Platform, in particular,” said Mitch Ferguson, vice president of business development, Hortonworks. “Teaming up with ClearStory Data and their integration with HDP also means that customers embarking on data lake initiatives now have a solution that will allow faster access and blending of data from Hadoop, robust data governance and more rapid delivery of data and insights. The integration of Spark-based applications accelerates data-as-a-service so business users are more self-reliant and are able to reach better data-driven decisions.”

“Customers have been searching for solutions that simplify access to data, reaching holistic insights and a solution that is usable across the enterprise, not just IT. Integrating and partnering with Hortonworks brings enterprise leaders an end-to-end solution from data storage, user and data governance, rapid analysis to intuitive business consumption,” said Sharmila Mulligan, CEO and founder, ClearStory Data. “We’re excited to partner with Hortonworks to make data democratization a reality. With Hortonworks, we offer all the necessary capabilities and blueprint for the whole data pipeline from raw data in Hadoop to fast user consumption of meaningful insights.”
