Airbus to Collaborate with A*STAR

Feb. 18 — Aerospace company Airbus has sealed a research collaboration with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Singapore last week.

The MoU signed will facilitate collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including data analytics. Data analytics solutions can be used for a wide array of aviation-related applications, including more accurate prediction of flight arrival times to reduce passenger delays, which will translate to significant savings for the aviation industry.

“We will channel the power of Big Data Analytics to faster develop incremental innovations for our market leading aircraft and services – and with greater agility,” said Mr. Axel Krein, Airbus Senior Vice President Research & Technology.

“Using the very latest developments in this exciting new technology field, we expect to be able to offer our customers new ways to reduce their fuel consumption through speedier, more effective analysis of their operational data.”
