Adaptive Computing Appoints Marty Smuin as CEO

PROVO, Utah, Feb. 24 — Adaptive Computing, the company that powers many of the world’s largest private/hybrid cloud and technical computing environments with its Moab optimization and scheduling software, today announced it has named Marty Smuin, the former head of business development and worldwide sales, as CEO. A technology visionary and proven leader with more than two decades of management experience, Smuin will lead Adaptive Computing’s efforts to continue servicing and expanding its large customer base in the traditional HPC space (government, research and academic organizations) as well as the commercial sector (oil and gas, manufacturing, finance and more).

Smuin will lead Adaptive Computing’s team as they continue to develop innovative software products that speed customers’ time to discovery through the unification of data center resources, optimization of the analysis process and guarantee of services to the business. Moab enables large enterprises, academic institutions and governments to perform simulations and analyze data more rapidly, accurately and most cost-effectively with its Technical Computing, Cloud and Big Data solutions for Big Workflow applications.

Prior to joining Adaptive Computing, Smuin served as the President of AIRCOM International, Inc., a leading provider of network planning, optimization and management software and consultancy for mobile networks. Under his leadership, AIRCOM International, Inc. consistently exceeded financial projections and grew revenue year over year.

Prior to Aircom, Smuin worked as the GM for the Americas at Bytemobile, which was acquired by Citrix. He has also held senior executive, sales, business development and marketing positions at Openwave Systems, ACCESS, IAC (formally known as USA Networks), and QVC.
