StackIQ today announced an extension to its StackIQ Enterprise Data (SED) product line featuring support for Big Data software stacks in addition to Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP). StackIQ's cluster management software can now provision, deploy and manage big data software offerings, including MapR, Cloudera, and DataStax.
“We realize people have choices when it comes to the Hadoop and NoSQL software they run in their data center," said Tim McIntire of StackIQ. “We wanted to make sure that our cluster-management capabilities would be available to everyone.”
This latest release of SED offers many features, including:
- Support for Hadoop and NoSQL distributions
- Complete lifecycle management of the entire Big Data cluster — hardware, operating system, network, and Big Data software
- Flexible, automated system configuration for all commodity hardware
- Script-free configuration and deployment
